Parable of the Lost Sheep

I'm using these verses for I'm giving at a upcoming retreat.  I'm posting them so I can print them out at work tomorrow.  

Feel free to read and ponder these verses.

Can you point to times when you were lost, but then found?

The Parable of the Lost Sheep
Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. 2 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”
3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’
7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
VS. 14-15
14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and  one Shepard.

I heard this on the radio over the past two mornings and I think it's a message that all of us should hear.  

Mr. Parson's is a master story teller and points to hope.

Pastor Scott surely has a point:  we shouldn't point to the speck in another's eye while we have a log in our own.  We should keep this in mind as we wrestle with the recent supreme court rulings.

What a blessed fellowship we had this morning at Faith Community. 
During Sunday school, Cori, Cashi and the kids assembled containers of trail mix for all the fathers in the congregation (pictures below), and other gifts for the kid's dads.

We tried some Dollar Tree batteries in the camera this morning, and guess what?  No video today.  

On the bright side, I was able to take some nice pictures.

Today, Pastor Scott encouraged us to take Jesus all the way home... into our homes, and not leave HIM at church or outside our homes.

HE is alive for us today, just as HE was alive when HE appeared to his disciples after HE defeated death.

Our souls are eternal, Miss Dajunna noted today.  We should take heed and choose to keep Christ in our lives.
