Watch our Service and Brother Scott Platt‘s Powerful Testimony 8/30/15

Dajunna, Pastor Scott and Cori were missed today and all our bottom lips are poking out because we aren't where they are (at the beach).

We were thankful to have several new faces this morning including some extended family members of Scott Platt;.  his Aunt Gloria and Uncle Sam

In addition, the dad to a couple of kids who usually sit beside me came today (I think) for the first time.  I think his name is Jarvis.  I'm also aware of a few others but I didn't get to meet them.   I pray for their return next week.

***Watch and listen to Brother Scott’s testimony below.  His is a story of redemption, grace and love.***

When watching this, remember that all of us have fallen short of God’s glory.  We are all sinners.

Praise Jesus for giving us the way to be saved.  All we have to do is repent and be baptized.   Just seek HIM.

Scott’s life now glorifies God.  If you are in trouble, you are not out of God’s reach.  Use Scott’s testimony as proof of this and let it encourage you to seek HIM.

Parable of the Lost Sheep

I'm using these verses for I'm giving at a upcoming retreat.  I'm posting them so I can print them out at work tomorrow.

Feel free to read and ponder these verses.

Can you point to times when you were lost, but then found?

--------------------

Psalm 23 ; 4-5
Even though I walk
    through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
Your rod and your staff comfort me.

Luke 15:1-7New International Version (NIV)
The Parable of the Lost Sheep
Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. 2 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”
3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’
7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
VS. 14-15
14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and  one Shepard.

LISTEN: Rob Parson's - Bringing Home the Prodigals

I heard this on the radio over the past two mornings and I think it's a message that all of us should hear.

Mr. Parson's is a master story teller and points to hope.
