11/30/14 Hanging of the Greens Service

***Please use internet explorer to view the video.***

Tonight was our hanging of the greens ceremony. We were reminded about the origins of many of the symbols of Christmas and we're encouraged to remember these as we go about our holiday bustle.

In an effort to preserve SD-card memory, I stopped recording between some Christmas Symbol. Doing so caused me to miss some initial words when some symbols were introduced. I apologize for this.

11/23/14 Thanksgiving Service

***Make sure you're using internet explorer to watch videos***

Happy Thanksgiving from Faith Community! We are so blessed.

CLICK HERE to see pictures from today and, pictures and video, from tonight's fellowship Thanksgiving  meal.

Recently, three or four different people told me their physical and/or emotional trials have actually improved their relationship with God. I know it’s true because it happened to me.

Prior to my autoimmune condition I was speeding through life relying on my own strength, power and abilities. If I had not been slowed and had not been afflicted, I would probably have breezed through life never knowing that I NEED Jesus in my life. .. and I thank HIM for that.

Below: The beginning of our worship service as well as the Offering led by Brother Scott Platt.

Below: Pastor Scott asks the congregation what we are thankful for… I didn’t get all the responses because I wanted to make sure I had enough memory left for the remaining service.

Below: Cashi encourages us to Glorify HIS name.

Below: The praise team does a super job lifting our spirits in praise and worship.

Thanksgiving meal video and pictures.

Below:  Video and pictures  from this year’s Thanksgiving celebration.  In the video you’ll see the full fellowship hall and hear Pastor Scott and Pastor David (the Spanish Pastor) say the blessing.  In addition, you’ll see and hear some congregation members jamming on the stage with the musical instruments… a song of which was, “Amazing Grace”.  The singer didn’t know all the words and may have been a little off tune, but I think we have the makings of another way to reach our community.

Think of the ‘Southern Rock’ and ‘Blues’  genre and how the word might reach into the community with such vibrant passionate music.  It’s  something to think about.

Below:  The few pictures I took this evening along with pictures I took earlier today prior to morning worship service.

The kids here are such blessings.  They make me smile.

11/16/14 Service and Praise: Spiritual Warfare and the Need for Prayer

***IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS VIEWING VIDEOS WITH GOOGLE CHROME, INTERNET EXPLORER WORKS.***

It was great fellowship today with my church-family.

We had a wonderful oatmeal breakfast (thank you to the cooks), and we had plenty of laughs, handshakes and coffee or kool-aid for the kids.

As you may see in the videos, we had lots of children who help make the spirit of our congregation more vibrant.

Best of all, we got to worship in the presence of our LORD.

BELOW: Chad opens today’s service followed by music led by Miss Dajunna, then Scott Platt leads today’s offering.

BELOW: Pastor Scott talks about Spiritual warfare. We should do God’s will saving nothing in our lives ahead of HIM. If things are becoming more important than GOD, than it is a false God. We can’t allow that.

BELOW: Dajunna and the praise team sing. Following the first song, Dajunna talks about the power of prayer and drives home why we should be doing it.

WOW! God Gave me a message that I want to share

One of my most frequent prayers is asking GOD to be with me; to let his holy spirit guard and guide my words, thoughts and actions.  That said, read below and listen to the entire video.
----------------

For the past week I noticed I've unusually been repeatedly hearing words related to "pivot" in different times and places.

I decided not to ignore this interesting phenomenon  and started an online search with the term, "pivot",  related to Christianity, church, and faith.

I found this video on Youtube and discovered she was talking about Advent, which "coincidentally"  is coming up starting on November 30.

song: Garth Brooks, "Time to Meet your Mom"

Someone MADE me listen to this today at work.  After hearing it, the first thing I thought was, I have to share this on our church's blog.  I think it's really sweet.

I hesitated to put this here because it's really one artist's rendition of a made up story.... but having said that, and listening to it all the way through, I believe it to be very appropriate for this blog.  It kind of speaks to what a mom would hopefully do. It brought tears to my eyes.
