We should be passionate about the eternal lives of our friends and family, and those around us. Our lives are very short and we’ll only have so many chances to turn from our old ways, and live for God.
It’s not just so we don’t go to Hell that we repent and get baptized. We do this because “the kingdom of heaven is near”, as John the Baptist called out to those he encountered. He didn't call out, "repent, our you'll go to hell!" The incentive is Heaven and Jesus.
People from the West Monroe church of the Nazarene were on hand today for our service and the use of the Baptismal water.
