My 88.7 The Cross Church of the Week Nomination

After I wrote this, I called Pastor Scott to ensure it was okay for me to enter our church.  He let me know Faith Community was already Chosen about a-year-and-a-half ago.

So, I just thought I'd put my nomination letter here on the blog.

I did reveal some slightly personal information about myself, but I think It'll be okay.

Here is the letter:
----------------------

To begin with, our mission at Faith Community is to "bring hope to the hopeless" in our community.  The believers in this church take that mission seriously; especially as seen by our Wednesday night services when many children from our community are picked up and brought to church by our dedicated van drivers.

There is love here.  We are a small church with a big heart and we see upwards of 50 kids on Wednesday nights.  Prior to their Bible lesion, they get a meal in our fellowship area.  Our adults also have meetings on Wednesday night broken up into groups.

Dajunna, the Pastor's wife is wonderful.  She brings her passion for the LORD, and her desperation for others to get that passion, each and every Sunday.  She also uses her musical and vocal gifts to further God's kingdom.

Pastor Scott has another full time job as a mechanic and still manages to grow (with God's help) HIS kingdom.  He is also the drummer on our praise team.

We have a wonderful youth director/pastor, Mathew, a young man and  musician.  He's a great role model for our youth, all of whom like and admire him.

I began attending Faith Community after my wife walked out last June.  This was a very low and stressful point in my life.    I knew I needed GOD to be the biggest part of my life, so I decided to find a church home. I am legally blind so I needed  to find  one nearby.   I went to the one some  neighborhood kids talked about.   This is how I found Faith Community.

At about the same time, I started working at Glory Therapy in Monroe.  Karl Kaufman always has the radio tuned to your station. Our mission there is "to Be a vessel of God's power".

Three elements have kept me joyful through the past year:  God at my church, God at my job, and God on the airwaves of  88.7 The Cross.  It is said that The LORD works in mysterious ways:  Finding God at every turn over the past year... finding your station, my job, and my Church have made a world of difference in my life.
