12/14/14 worship: Why Has GOD found Favor with Us?

I have the full service today in one video thanks to a 32gig memory card!    You should be able to click on the progress bar to get to various portions of the service.  As usual, Google chrome seems to be having trouble viewing youtube videos so please use internet explorer.

The beginning of this video contains the praise team getting ready for service and a few faces near the camera as I was getting ready for the service.

We hope you enjoy the service.

The Late, Mr. George French, "Just a little while to Stay Here"

Many thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of Brother George who went to be with the LORD yesterday.

Below he sings, "Just a little while to Stay Here".  (Lyrics below the video)

He is there now.

Here are the words he is singing:

Soon this life will all be over
And our pilgrimage will end.
Soon we'll take our Heavenly journey
Be at home again with friends.
Heaven's gates are standing open
Waiting for our entrance there.
Some sweet day we're going over
All the beauties there to share.
Just a little while to stay here
Just a little while to wait.
Just a little while to labor
In the path that's always straight (that's always straight and narrow).
Just a little more of troubles
In this low and sinful state.
Then we'll enter Heaven's portals
Sweeping through the pearly gates.
Soon we'll see the lights of morning
And the new day will begin.
Soon we'll hear the Father calling:
"Come my children, enter in".
And we'll hear a choir of angels
Singing out the vic'try song.
All our troubles will be ended
And we'll be with Heaven's throng.
Just a little while to stay here
Just a little while to wait.
Just a little while to labor
In the path that's always straight (that's always straight and narrow).
Just a little more of troubles
In this low and sinful state.
Then we'll enter Heaven's portals
Sweeping through the pearly gates.
(Just a little while, just a little while, just a little while, just a little while)
Just a little while to stay here
Just a little while to wait.
Just a little while to labor
In the path that's always straight (that's always straight and narrow).
Just a little more of troubles
In this low and sinful state.
Then we'll enter Heaven's portals
Sweeping through the pearly gates.
Then we'll enter Heaven's portals
Sweeping through the pearly gates.

(Watch) Christian Rap Artist, Lecrae:"We Engage Culture for Jesus"

I heard this guy speak on the radio this morning.   He's a popular rap artist who was recently number one on i-Tunes and is at the top of Billboard's charts.

How can we change culture as Christian's is the subject of this presentation.

11/30/14 Hanging of the Greens Service

***Please use internet explorer to view the video.***

Tonight was our hanging of the greens ceremony. We were reminded about the origins of many of the symbols of Christmas and we're encouraged to remember these as we go about our holiday bustle.

In an effort to preserve SD-card memory, I stopped recording between some Christmas Symbol. Doing so caused me to miss some initial words when some symbols were introduced. I apologize for this.

11/23/14 Thanksgiving Service

***Make sure you're using internet explorer to watch videos***

Happy Thanksgiving from Faith Community! We are so blessed.

CLICK HERE to see pictures from today and, pictures and video, from tonight's fellowship Thanksgiving  meal.

Recently, three or four different people told me their physical and/or emotional trials have actually improved their relationship with God. I know it’s true because it happened to me.

Prior to my autoimmune condition I was speeding through life relying on my own strength, power and abilities. If I had not been slowed and had not been afflicted, I would probably have breezed through life never knowing that I NEED Jesus in my life. .. and I thank HIM for that.

Below: The beginning of our worship service as well as the Offering led by Brother Scott Platt.

Below: Pastor Scott asks the congregation what we are thankful for… I didn’t get all the responses because I wanted to make sure I had enough memory left for the remaining service.

Below: Cashi encourages us to Glorify HIS name.

Below: The praise team does a super job lifting our spirits in praise and worship.

Thanksgiving meal video and pictures.

Below:  Video and pictures  from this year’s Thanksgiving celebration.  In the video you’ll see the full fellowship hall and hear Pastor Scott and Pastor David (the Spanish Pastor) say the blessing.  In addition, you’ll see and hear some congregation members jamming on the stage with the musical instruments… a song of which was, “Amazing Grace”.  The singer didn’t know all the words and may have been a little off tune, but I think we have the makings of another way to reach our community.

Think of the ‘Southern Rock’ and ‘Blues’  genre and how the word might reach into the community with such vibrant passionate music.  It’s  something to think about.

Below:  The few pictures I took this evening along with pictures I took earlier today prior to morning worship service.

The kids here are such blessings.  They make me smile.
